Fast approaching Artizan’s first year anniversary in business, I feel the need to take a moment, take a coffee and take stock of the year that has flown and share news of work done to date. Support has been tremendous, projects have been rolling in, and job satisfaction has been huge thanks to a great bunch of clients and the trust and freedom they give over to design.

The working day has been both smooth and industrious owing to invaluable advice from experienced masters of finance, sales and IT, to the genius of the programmers who work with us, and most importantly all the positive feedback from so many people who make it their business to spread the good word!

Since its launch in November 2003, Artizan's skill-set has been well exercised with a diversity of creative projects involving animation, logo design, corporate presentations, video editing and a generous assortment of websites with subject matter ranging from picture frames to marine materials to promotional merchandise.

RING OF THE NIBELUNGS

  Ring of the Nibelungs is a €22m budget film made in Germany and directed by Uli Edel. Artizan was asked to do a "movie-style" website with an opening animation, sound effects and plenty of emphasis on the movie's visuals.

  Canadian-based company, Team Concept, is a one-stop shop for corporate apparel and gifts, promotional products, sportswear and workwear. The website is linked to a content management facility allowing the client to update the products internally.
 
PALLET XPRESS

  PalletXpress is nationwide distribution service for palletised freight. Customers can make bookings online, track their consignments from collection through to delivery, and access Proof of Delivery information within 24 hours of delivery.

  Des Donnelly is a Dublin-based car dealer offering quality cars and specialising in BMW, Jaguars and Mercedes. The website is linked to a content management facility allowing the client to update car details internally.

  Kilroy Marine is a manufacturers agent specialising in marine construction materials. The website design uses a blue colour scheme to reflect the materials' association with water.

DIEP

Diep is an Irish-based franchise offering Thai cuisine in two Dublin venues: a'fine dining' restaurant and a more informal noodle bar. Artizan was contracted to create an opening animation on their existing website that incorporated traditional elements of Thai culture but also reflected the contemporary decor of both restaurants.

Reality Surgery is the producer of the world's first interactive DVD surgical journal. The website is designed to invite members of the medical profession to preview video sample of the latest DVD issue and offers online subscriptions. Artizan was asked to revamp the site's menu and banner in a more space-efficient and colourful manner.

Framanc are the Irish leaders in the manufacture and distribution of framed products. The website design needed a clean look with a neutral colour scheme to highlight the colourful diversity of their framed products. The website is connected to a database and content management system with a customised application to allow Framanc to merge images with frames to give customers an online preview. We also provided Framanc with an email mailout facility, allowing them to send customised group mails advertising new stock and special offers.

  Cycling Sos specialise in cycling holidays based in the Wicklow area. The Cycling Sos lettering offered plenty of scope to merge the image of a bike with the company name.

  GOLFWARE
  Golfware Ltd is an Irish company formed to provide a range of quality software products aimed specifically at Irish golf clubs. A golf tee was used in this logo design to visually combine the company name with the sport it represents.
 
TRS
  TRS - Tee Reservation System
  TRS is an online tee time reservation system developed by Golfware. The logo design was aimed to immediately convey its association with golf. The same red and black colour scheme was carried through from Golfware's own corporate logo to their product.
 
ABC
  ABC - Anti-Bullying Centre
  The logo aimed to reflect the three principles of ABC's
anti-bullying philosophy: Avoid Agression, Be Tolerant and Care for Others. Hands were used to embody this concept: one hand reaching for help and the other offering assistance.
 
NISLD
  NISLD
  The National Institute for the Study of Learning Difficulties wanted a logo to represent the inclusion of people with learning diffulties within society. This design is an abstract representation of two contrasting circles/ groups joining together to create a shared communal space at their intersection. Filling both circles with the colour of their opposite suggests integration on both sides.

  Whisperstream is a software development company. The logo design aimed to reflect the problem-solving nature of the business using complex shapes that gel perfectly together but are constructed from smaller shapes similar to blocks of code.
 
KILROY MARINE
  KILROY MARINE
  Kilroy Marine is a manufacturers agent specialising in marine construction materials. The logo design needed to include a reference to both sail and power boats. This was achieved with an image of a sailboat at the center framed by the propellor of a power boat.
 
POWER TEAM
  POWERTEAM
  The Powerteam logo was designed to reinforce the company name using three coloured figures to represent a team of individuals. The steel band represents strength, security and unity for the team it encircles.

euroConex offers a range of powerful, cost-effective card payment and currency solutions to retailers, acquiring banks, payment processors and businesses across Europe. Artizan was contracted by DesignWorks to revamp the euroConex powerpoint presentation.

The new template design uses a more vibrant colour scheme in keeping with euroConex print collateral. The strong colours and animated content visually enrich the slides to make the presentation more engaging.

Reality Surgery outsourced the design and development of a promotional CD-ROM for their interactive DVD surgical journal to Artizan. The cd was programmed using Macromedia Director and used a range of video samples.

Artizan was contracted by DesignWorks to take on Tourism Ireland's Market Profiles: a series of electronic profiles of the island’s leading source markets, starting with GB, USA, France and Germany. Each profile provides an overview of the market, a profile of consumers’ travel patterns, a detailed profile of visitors to the island, and Tourism Ireland’s strategy and core activity.
